The deadline for submitting candidacies for the selection process to fill the Consell Comarcal's Management position has begun today. This call responds to the upcoming retirement of the current manager, Carles Fernández, who has held the post since 2021.
The Plenary of the Consell Comarcal approved the modification of the procedural regulations on October 21st. The call was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) and the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) on October 29th.
Management is an essential professional leadership role for aligning political direction with institutional management, according to the Regional Organic Regulation (ROC). The appointment rests with the Plenary, proposed by the Presidency.
The selection process includes a curriculum evaluation and an individual interview before a assessment committee to verify key competencies such as analytical skills, communication, people management, and strategic vision.
Once the process is complete, the committee will propose suitable candidates to the Presidency, who may conduct further interviews before presenting a candidate to the Plenary for final appointment.
The Management role will have executive responsibilities, directing the county administration, managing human resources, and strategic planning, as well as promoting electronic administration and transparency.
To participate, a university degree or licenciatura (subgroup A1), C1 level of Catalan, and a minimum of five years of experience in the public or private sector in leadership or management roles are required.
