The fourth deputy mayor and Councilor of Good Governance, Carme Valls, confirmed that despite the opposition's negative vote, the local executive remains willing to dialogue. Valls noted that, for the moment, they have not received any formal amendments but are open to studying proposals submitted by the groups to improve the document and reach a consensus.
From ERC, spokesperson Jordina Freixanet highlighted that they are the only party that has presented “prior considerations” to the proposal. Their red lines include changes in bus service management, real actions on housing and commerce, and alternatives to the Torre Salses project.
“"They mortgage the city's future accounts with two projects that have not been agreed upon with the municipal groups."
The leader of Junts, Violant Cervera, justified her vote against the budget in the commission, arguing that the planned investment is financed through debt, citing the cases of EDIL and the Neighborhood Plan. Furthermore, she criticized that the budgets do not address key issues for her group such as security, civility, occupations, or mobility. The head of the opposition, Xavier Palau, also confirmed his group's negative vote.
For its part, the Comú group aligned with Junts, stating that the accounts “are not credible” and neglect basic aspects such as mobility, youth policies, and community action. Separately, during the commission, the new protocol against sexual harassment or harassment based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression was approved, renewing the current one and establishing four procedural phases.
