The Tres Tombs festival in Valls, declared a National Interest Traditional Festival, will be held on January 9, 10, and 11, featuring a program highlighted by the recovery of historical pieces and the incorporation of new events.

The events in honor of Sant Antoni Abat in Valls will kick off on Friday, January 9, with the inauguration of the exhibition “Valls capital del patrimoni de carros” (Valls capital of carriage heritage). The celebration, which ritually opens the Tres Tombs calendar across Catalonia, will continue on Saturday 10 with the Vespra (Vigil) and culminate on Sunday 11 with the traditional and massive Tres Tombs parade.

"In these current times, and with all the doubts raised about these traditional festivals involving animals, the fact that the festival can be held, that the quality of animal welfare can be guaranteed, and that patrimonial and identity pieces of the city can be historically recovered, highlights and emphasizes the great Tres Tombs festival of Valls."

Joan Ibarra · Councilor for Tourism
This year's program includes several novelties, such as the incorporation of the Vermut del Dimoni (Devil's Vermouth). Furthermore, due to construction work on the Sant Francesc wall, the route has been modified, meaning the blessing of the animals will exceptionally take place at the Capella del Roser.
The main day of the Tres Tombs will feature two significant patrimonial additions. On one hand, the Vilaverd carriage will join, and on the other, the restored diligence of the Societat de Sant Antoni de Valls will be reincorporated, a piece that has not participated in the parade since the early 2000s.

"We have always championed quality as the main item, not quantity; it is a patrimonial festival, a traditional festival that vindicates an agricultural past."

Tània Guasch · President of the Societat de Sant Antoni de Valls
