Firefighters were called to Garriguella on Sunday night to extinguish a fire involving copper cables inside an abandoned farmhouse on Pins Street.

The emergency services received a 112 call reporting a large column of smoke and flames. Upon arrival, crews discovered that the fire was caused by burning electrical wiring, a common method used by thieves to extract valuable metal.
The Mossos d'Esquadra are now investigating the incident. However, police sources indicated that identifying the source of the copper will be challenging due to the small amount of material found at the scene.
