The Independent Trade Union and Civil Servants (CSIF) denounced in Girona the serious errors in summer job allocations that displaced about 300 Catalan teachers, causing health and work-life balance issues.

Around thirty teachers gathered in front of the Territorial Education Services in Girona, called by the CSIF, to denounce that the Department of Education has offered no solution to the allocation errors affecting some 300 professionals across Catalonia.
The case of a teacher from Vilafant, who was assigned a school in Cornellà de Llobregat, exemplifies the situation. This professional had to travel 340 kilometers daily, a distance she could not manage due to chronic pain from an accident, forcing her to take sick leave.

"We are facing a situation of institutional mistreatment. The Department has had the time, vacancies, and mechanisms to correct a serious error, but has opted for silence and inaction, putting the health and personal lives of hundreds of teachers at risk."

The union estimates that a hundred teachers in the Girona region are affected, having to bear unsustainable economic costs and severe difficulties in family reconciliation. They also claim that administrative uncertainty and continuous stress have had a direct impact on the health of those affected.
The CSIF demands that summer allocations be carried out with transparency and strict adherence to the order of merit and capacity, without allowing arbitrary alterations by school management. They also request that service commissions be considered for health reasons and that voluntary exchanges between teachers be facilitated.
