This year's program combines the essence of the most traditional events with a significant enhancement of live music offerings, family activities, and popular cultural expressions. One of the most anticipated moments is the return of the Firework Display at Castell de Sant Ferran, a tradition being revived after nine years.
Among the highlighted events, the Colla Castellera de Figueres will deliver the opening speech, celebrating its 30th anniversary. There will also be concerts by artists such as Doctor Prats, Ginestà, and Crim at the El Rampell venue, as well as the traditional fairs on May 1 and the May Crosses competition.
The official start of the festivities will be on Saturday, April 25, with the opening speech from the Town Hall balcony at 7 PM, preceded by the parade and the dance of the entourage. At 8 PM, Plaça de l'Església will host the popular Xupinassu, one of the most crowded events marking the beginning of the fairs.
Live music will be one of the pillars of the celebration, with five big nights of concerts at El Rampell, in Parc de les Aigües, and performances in Plaça Catalunya and La Rambla, offering something for all tastes, from orchestras to punk rock bands.
Thursday, May 1 will be the main day for traditional fairs, with the presence of nearly 400 vendors and various themed fairs, such as the Drawing and Painting Fair, the Collectibles Fair, and the Crafts Fair. On Sunday, May 3, Plaça Catalunya will host the Old Book Fair.
Popular culture will play a prominent role with the May Crosses Competition, featuring 20 participating entities, and the traditional giants' gathering. There will also be exhibitions, such as the one dedicated to photographer Melitó Casals, Meli, as well as family activities, sardanas, and theater.
The Amusement Park will be open from Wednesday, April 22 until May 3 at the Recinte Firal, featuring over a hundred attractions. On Friday, April 24, there will be a popular prices day with a 50% discount.
The fairs will culminate on Sunday, May 3, at 10 PM, with the return of the Firework Display outside Castell de Sant Ferran, bringing an end to ten days of festivities in Figueres.
