Computer Engineering student Adrián San Miguel, from Roses, developed the video game MyRoses to teach primary school students the history of the municipality in an interactive and entertaining way.

The project, titled MyRoses. El videojoc d'un llegat, originated as a Research Project at the Institut Illa de Rodes. It covers six historical levels, from prehistory, the Roman era, and the Visigothic presence in Puig Rom, up to the present day with references to Ferran Adrià and ElBulli.
San Miguel, 19, balances his studies at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya with his work as an assistant at the elBulli1846 museum. This experience reinforces his belief that history must be brought to life through accessible means.

"It was a very emotional experience to see them testing a creation of yours and at the same time how they learned specific things about the history of Roses."

The game, created using the Unity graphics engine, is cooperative and designed for 3rd and 4th grade primary students. Players who complete the six levels in 30 minutes win a drachma from Roses, the currency of ancient Greece.
The project has received recognition, including the Núvol Cultura awards at the XXV Exporecerca Jove held in Barcelona in 2024, and has been successfully tested at educational centers such as the Jaume Vicens Vives school.
