The Government of Catalonia and the Ministry of Transport have announced that Rodalies and Regional train services will remain free of charge until March 31 due to ongoing network instability.

The extension follows the discovery of multiple technical issues during inspections after the Gelida rail accident. Originally set to end in February, the free service period has been adjusted to match the repair schedule required to restore full operational capacity.
Major disruptions continue to affect the R3, R4, R8, and R15 lines, where some sections remain closed. Furthermore, over 200 temporary speed restrictions are currently in place, causing significant delays across the entire railway system.
