Iranian researcher Seyed Mostafa Taghavi, currently pursuing a PhD at UPC Manresa, describes his country's reality as a constant struggle marked by a lack of freedom and economic crisis.

Living in Manresa since last year, Taghavi focuses on Mining Sustainability thanks to a European Union scholarship. After studying in Germany and France, he chose Catalonia to escape an uncertain future in Iran.

"Life there was a constant struggle. Beyond the economic difficulties, the government's interference in personal life is very exhausting."
