The Bages Regional Council has launched the "Digue-ho en català!" campaign to promote the use of the language in 120 establishments across four municipalities in the region starting in January 2026.

The Digue-ho en català! campaign, promoted by the Bages Regional Council, aims to consolidate and increase the presence of Catalan in the consumer sector, linking it directly to citizens' linguistic rights in commercial interactions.
To achieve this, informative and pedagogical visits will be carried out in 120 businesses across four towns: Sant Vicenç de Castellet, Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, Sallent, and Sant Fruitós de Bages. The action will focus on improving linguistic availability in signage, documentation, and oral communication.

"the habitual use of Catalan is decreasing, but in the central regions we have a strong and stable base."

Eloi Hernàndez · President of the Regional Council
The project, which collaborates with the Agència Catalana de Consum and the Centre de Normalització Lingüística Montserrat, is not an inspection. It offers free resources such as text review and translation, in addition to Catalan learning programs.
In parallel, a communication campaign has been created with graphic materials and two gag videos. These materials seek to encourage the habit of maintaining the language, avoiding switching languages out of inertia. Content creator Shalana Rodríguez, actress Mercè Comes, and actor Joan Valentí participated in the recordings.
