The presence of the large ladder and crane generated considerable attention among residents and pedestrians in the central Plaça Catalunya of Manresa throughout Sunday morning.

The operation was necessary because it was impossible to remove the body of the man, who had died of natural causes in his apartment, using the internal stairs or the building's elevator.

The Firefighters used the ladder to access the balcony and extract the body. The operation required the presence of security forces, who temporarily controlled vehicle traffic in the area.

A funeral vehicle was dispatched to the scene to take charge of the deceased's remains after the complex maneuver was completed in the capital of Bages.
