The play, adapted by playwrights Albert Tola and Iban Beltran, is based on the book Les passeurs de livres de Daraya by journalist Delphine Minoui. The performance took place in the main hall of the Kursaal theatre in Manresa last Friday.
The plot focuses on the events that occurred on November 8, 2012, in Darayya, Syria, when a group of young rebels discovered books among the ruins of a bombed house. These volumes became the origin of a clandestine library, an act of intellectual resistance amid the conflict.

The show, in a documentary-theatre format, featured journalist Laura Rosel embodying Delphine Minoui. Along with actors Marwan Sabri, Jorge Yamam, and Ilyass El Ouahdani, who used Arabic on stage, a basement was recreated using projections and sound and light effects.
Following the performance, a colloquium was held where the audience's lack of knowledge about the Syrian war became evident. The participants concluded that, prior to the production, they themselves were unaware of the history of Darayya.
