The director and dubbing actor, Joan Anton Ramoneda, the historic voice of Catalunya Ràdio, died this Friday at the age of 69, the broadcaster reported. Ramoneda joined the radio station from its inception in October 1983, providing the voice for advertising across the various stations of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA).
Throughout his long career, Ramoneda was responsible for announcing program identifiers and creating the separators broadcast over the air. He also actively participated in numerous advertising and promotional spots, as highlighted by 3Cat.
Beyond radio, Joan Anton Ramoneda also excelled in the world of dubbing for film and television. He lent his voice to iconic series such as Dallas or Star Trek: The Next Generation, and successful films like Apollo 13 or Zodiac.
His contribution to the quality of Catalan audiovisual production was recognized in 2011, when he received the Menció d'Honor de Ràdio Associació (Radio Association Honorary Mention), specifically for his work in announcing and dubbing.
