The municipality of Mura, located in the heart of the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Park, is established as a medieval jewel near Manresa, notably featuring its traditional Tió Festival which lasts until January 6.

Mura, with its first documents dating back to the transition of the first millennium, retains a medieval charm that dates back to the 11th century. Its traditional economy was based on agriculture, especially grape cultivation, until the phylloxera plague devastated the vineyards in the 19th century, leading to textile activity.
Following the closure of the textile factory in the sixties, the town in Bages reoriented itself towards tourism and second residences. Today, it is recognized as one of the most attractive towns in the region, located just 37 minutes from Manresa, and serves as the gateway to the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Park. More information about the town can be found on its official website.
The old town of Mura invites visitors to wander aimlessly through its medieval-style streets. Among its points of interest are the Romanesque church of Sant Martí, with its main nave dating from the 12th century, and the Puig de la Balma.
The Puig de la Balma is a historic farmhouse that functions as tourist accommodation and a museum, displaying tools used by 26 generations. This farmhouse, featuring a chapel from the 14th century, was the setting for the filming of the well-known Catalan film Pa negre.
Throughout December and until January 6, Mura celebrates its popular Tió Festival. The tions (wooden logs), transformed into story characters, musicians, or traditional tradespeople, decorate the cobblestone streets, offering a fun activity for visitors, which involves finding all the hidden tions throughout the municipality.
