Sant Fruitós de Bages Celebrates European Heritage Days with Wine as a Focus

The City Council organizes guided tours, wine tastings, and activities to highlight local wine culture on October 10th.

Next Saturday, October 10th, Sant Fruitós de Bages will participate in the European Heritage Days (JEP) with a day centered on wine and vine culture, organized by the City Council in collaboration with the Col·lectiu de Recerca Històrica.

Activities will begin in the morning with free guided tours of Món Sant Benet de Bages, exploring different historical periods of the monastic complex. Visitors can choose between a modernist or medieval experience. Both tours start at 10:30 AM and require free booking via the municipal app, with limited spaces.
The afternoon and evening program will focus on the vine and wine culture, a heritage deeply rooted in the municipality and region. From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Museu de la Memòria de la Vinya i el Vi and the Museu de la Rectoria Vella will be open for visits.
At 6:00 PM, a walk linked to the local wine heritage will take place, exploring the landscape and history of vineyards in the municipality. The starting point is the Cobert de la Màquina de Batre.
At 7:00 PM, the plaça de l’Església will host a white wine tasting led by Cellers de DO Pla de Bages. The tasting costs 6 euros, and tickets can be purchased at www.santfruitos.cat.
The day continues at 8:00 PM with a popular anniversary dinner for the Col·lectiu de Recerca Històrica, featuring a traditional menu of botifarra amb seques. Tickets are 9 euros in advance and 10 euros on the day.
The celebration will conclude with a concert of sea shanties and popular songs by the group De Gairó, accompanied by the traditional 'rom cremat' (spiced rum).
