The application allows drivers to offer trips starting from the core of Sant Fruitós de Bages or from any of its urbanizations to any destination, whether other municipalities, industrial estates, universities, or workplaces. The only requirement is that Sant Fruitós de Bages must be the origin or destination point of the journey.
Users with private vehicles can publish their regular routes, indicating the origin, destination, and other journey details. Other users can then check available trips and, once a seat is reserved, contact the driver through the app's internal chat to finalize the travel arrangements.
With SFB Mobilitat, the City Council aims to promote more sustainable mobility by reducing the number of vehicles on the road and potentially lowering associated emissions. It also offers an opportunity for economic savings for users, especially given the significant impact of fuel costs and other expenses related to private vehicles.
The application specifically addresses the daily commutes many people make outside the municipality for work, education, or personal reasons, facilitating the sharing of these journeys among individuals with similar routes or destinations.
SFB Mobilitat originates from the experience of the previous application, Brucardes Mobilitat, which offered a similar service between the town center and an urbanization. Building on this experience, the council has now expanded the service's capabilities to be available to the entire population.
