Cambrils Town Council recently hosted two international Erasmus+ projects. Mayor Oliver Klein welcomed a group of about thirty young participants in the "The Hero’s Journey" youth exchange and twelve professionals for the "Level Up: Learning in Motion" training.
The first group, consisting of young people aged 18 to 30 from Spain, Latvia, Romania, Greece, and the Netherlands, visited Cambrils from September 21st to 29th. They engaged in activities focused on emotional well-being, self-awareness, mental health, and resilience, based on Joseph Campbell's narrative structure. Activities included dynamics to address fears, personal challenges, and emotional management, as well as group scavenger hunts around the municipality to discover local culture and history and interact with residents.
The second group, comprising 12 professionals in the field of education and youth, arrived on September 30th and will participate until October 6th in training on new learning methodologies and non-formal education. Participants come from Spain, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Romania, and the Netherlands. The "Level Up" training is based on the idea that in a diverse group, everyone has knowledge to teach and learn, and that real learning often requires practical experimentation.
During the training, professionals will actively participate, improvise, and test new activities, creating a space where mistakes are considered a natural part of the learning process. The aim is for methodologies and dynamics proposed by participants from different countries to become useful resources for educators in various contexts.
