The night watchman service will operate from 11 PM to 6 AM, covering areas of municipal interest such as the Hermitage of Santa Anna and other public spaces. This measure is part of the actions to ensure security during the summer season.
In parallel, the municipality is covered by the Reus station of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police). Additionally, license plate reader cameras have been installed at all entrances and exits of the municipality, including both the urban center and its developments. Surveillance cameras have also been reinforced in the area of the Hermitage of Santa Anna.
These technological measures aim to improve overall security and act as a deterrent against potential criminal acts, providing a sense of control and protection for residents and visitors.
“"The municipality's security is under control"
Mayor Josep Sabaté expressed confidence that this set of measures will be effective in maintaining security. The decision to extend the night watchman's hours was made after observing in previous summers that many acts of incivility occurred after 4 AM, coinciding with the end of the usual shift.
