Chef Josep Queralt Sales has been named the winner of the first Cambrils Galera Challenge Repsol held this Monday at Parc Samà, showcasing the culinary potential of the mantis shrimp.

The head chef of Vinum restaurant, located in Torroja del Priorat, impressed the judges with a Cambrils mantis shrimp prepared in two ways. Queralt received a 3,000 euro prize and special mentions for tradition and the use of seasonal local ingredients.
The competition featured eight finalists and was judged by a panel led by Eduard Xatruch from the world-renowned restaurant Disfrutar. Paula Malapeira Romero took second place, while Claudia García Barón, a local culinary student, secured the third spot.
