The head chef of Vinum restaurant, located in Torroja del Priorat, impressed the judges with a Cambrils mantis shrimp prepared in two ways. Queralt received a 3,000 euro prize and special mentions for tradition and the use of seasonal local ingredients.
The competition featured eight finalists and was judged by a panel led by Eduard Xatruch from the world-renowned restaurant Disfrutar. Paula Malapeira Romero took second place, while Claudia García Barón, a local culinary student, secured the third spot.
This event is a key part of the Mantis Shrimp and Seafood Gastronomy Days, running until March 1st, aiming to establish Cambrils as a premier gastronomic destination on the Costa Daurada.
