The Centre de Normalització Lingüística (CNL) of the Reus Miquel Ventura Area is looking for fifteen new volunteers for the 'Voluntariat per la llengua' (VxL) program before the presentation session scheduled for Friday, February 6.

The 'Voluntariat per la llengua' (VxL) program is a key initiative to encourage the practice of Catalan through informal conversation. It is based on creating linguistic pairs: a volunteer who speaks Catalan fluently and a learner with basic knowledge seeking to gain fluency.
These pairs commit to meeting for a minimum of ten hours, freely deciding the location, time, and topic of conversation. Meetings can be either in-person, choosing a joint activity, or virtual, using agreed-upon video call platforms.

We need to reinforce the volunteer team to be able to assign a partner to all the new learners who have applied to participate in the program.

Although a good portion of the eighty pairs started in October are continuing, the CNL has a large number of new learners waiting to be assigned. Therefore, the call is urgent to incorporate the fifteen necessary volunteers for the presentation session that will take place on Friday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Biblioteca Xavier Amorós.
In addition to individual meetings, participants can also practice the language through complementary activities of the 'Xalem' program. This quarter includes planned outings such as a visit to the Boca de la Mina, an excursion with the GATA to the Llorito de Tarragona, and radio workshops, in addition to weekly discussion groups at the Centre Cívic Gregal.
