The musician and singer-songwriter from Reus, Ariel Santamaria, has released his new audiovisual work, a satirical song claiming Reus as the birthplace of Antoni Gaudí i Cornet. This premiere takes place within the framework of the beginning of the Gaudí Year 2026, which has generated public and institutional debate regarding the commemorative events.

The music video, titled En Gaudí és de Reus (Gaudí is from Reus), is a preview of the upcoming album Santamaria is recording, called Gaudim Reus. The artist explained that the piece is a personal tribute to the brilliant architect, while also providing a “Reus perspective” on the commemoration.
The song's lyrics insist on the localist thesis: “Whether you believe it or not, Gaudí was born in Reus. [...] Gaudí was born here, around the year 1852. He was baptized in Sant Pere and then, he left.”
