The victory for the 'roig-i-negres', combined with Igualada's defeat, allows Reus to move into a privileged position in Group A. The match, played this Thursday, started at a high pace, although Martí Casas missed a penalty eight minutes in. Jordi Garcia's team dominated the first half, adapting well to the synthetic surface of the French rink.
The first goal arrived in the 11th minute when Argentine Maxi Oruste assisted Pol Martínez, who opened the scoring (0-1). This minimal lead was maintained until halftime, thanks also to the reliable performance of goalkeeper Càndid Ballart, who stopped dangerous counterattacks from the French side.
After the break, SCRA Saint-Omer, coached by Fabien Savreux, came out with more intensity and managed to equalize in the 41st minute. Thibault Colin recovered the ball and surprised Càndid Ballart with a half-turn shot (1-1). This goal caused a moment of tension for the Reus team, forcing Jordi Garcia to call a timeout.
With only five minutes remaining, a play down the left wing by Carles Casas culminated in the decisive goal (1-2), securing Reus's second consecutive victory in the competition. This triumph places them fourth in the group, now led by Barça. The next European match will be on February 5 at the Palau d’Esports in Reus, once again facing Saint-Omer.
