La Crispeta Carnival Race in Reus breaks record with 450 participants

The second edition of the event successfully combined sport and festive spirit, with overall victories for Hugo Domínguez and Angelina Díaz.

The second edition of the La Crispeta Carnival Race in Reus gathered 450 costumed runners last Sunday morning, exceeding the previous year's participation figure by 150.

The race, organized by the La Crispeta association, confirmed its positive reception by combining sport with the festive, carnival spirit through the streets of the Baix Camp capital. Superheroes, movie characters, and highly original costumes filled the center of Reus during the morning.

The overall winners of the day were Hugo Domínguez, who set the best men's time at 16:19, and Angelina Díaz, the fastest woman, completing the course in 21:39. The men's podium was completed by Marc Arriaza (16:20) and Marc Perelló (17:47), while among women Carla Gallego and Berta Aguilar also stood out.
In the other categories, the winners included the promise category champions Mohammed Benbrahim and Helena Banús, and the senior winners Robert Perramon and Anna Valero. A new feature this year was the URV Community Award, given to the fastest participants linked to the Universitat Rovira i Virgili: Carlos Vicente and Blanca Teixidó.
The organization thanked the Reus City Council and the Club Natació Reus Ploms for their support, as well as the involvement of all volunteers and collaborators. This race marks the beginning of a special 2026 for La Crispeta, as the organization celebrates its tenth anniversary.
