The Popular Party of Reus will present two questions at Friday's plenary session regarding the severe degradation of the former Gros Mercat and the inclusion of Antoni Gaudí's name at the Airport.

The municipal group of the Popular Party (PP) has announced that it will question the local government about the state of the former Gros Mercat supermarket facilities, located on Milà i Fontanals street, in the south of Reus. The party denounces that the space has become an "illegal dump" causing a very serious unsanitary situation.

The situation is especially serious due to the presence of broken and scattered fiber cement, which has generated numerous complaints from neighbors and businesses in the area.

Given the lack of response to previous efforts, the PP will ask what specific actions the municipal government has taken to resolve this problem and whether any sanctioning file has been opened against those responsible for the abandonment.
The second issue that the Popular Party of Reus will raise is the naming of the Reus Airport. Taking advantage of the Gaudí Year, the group demands that the city council take the necessary steps before AENA to add the name of the architect from Reus to the facility.
It should be recalled that in 2016 the municipal plenary session already approved this proposal, presented by the PP itself, with a large majority. However, the agreement was never implemented. The popular party wants to know the current position of the PSC, which opposed it at the time, should the motion be presented again.
