The partners of the Reus government team presented their balance and plans for 2026, focusing their strategy on transforming the southern area and boosting economic and tourism promotion.

The Reus coalition executive, despite internal differences, has managed to project an image of unified action, taking ownership of the projects managed by each of the three parties. This perceived coherence contrasts with the opposition's argument, which criticizes the lack of a defined project and governmental disorganization.
The main focus for 2026 is the comprehensive intervention in the southern area of the city, from Carrilet downwards, following the Salou highway. This project covers the Fortuny, Juroca, and Montserrat neighborhoods, as well as the bus station area and the Mercat del Carrilet. It is defined as both a physical (works) and social action, deemed highly necessary.

2026 is the key year, in which many efforts must culminate and projects that have been cooking for a long time must see the light.

Other strategic axes include city promotion, focusing on attracting talent and tourism. The Gaudí Year will be the central element of this promotion. They also aim for urban planning that is “friendlier, greener, and more human”.
The culmination of these projects during 2026 is crucial, as the government seeks to present itself in the municipal elections of May 2027 with its tasks completed. However, it is acknowledged that the complexity of the general political situation may negatively influence the local sphere.
