The Reus City Council has decided to keep the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) inoperative for eight days, until January 30, to facilitate citizen mobility due to problems with the Rodalies commuter rail service.

The deactivation of the LEZ in Reus began on January 21 and will be extended until Friday, January 30, totaling eight consecutive days without the usual access restrictions.

These eight days without restrictions will be treated the same as a public holiday. This means they will not count towards the maximum number of annual accesses allowed to the Reus LEZ, which is currently set at 24.
The decision by Reus aligns with the request from the Government of Catalonia, which urged municipalities with LEZs to apply “imminently” the exceptions and flexibility mechanisms provided in municipal ordinances to facilitate entry for restricted vehicles.
