The city of Reus officially received the handover of the Women's Basketball Capital 2026 title in a ceremony held in Llinars del Vallès, the municipality that held the capital status during 2025. This recognition, promoted by the Catalan Basketball Federation (FCBQ), distinguishes cities committed to promoting women's basketball and equal opportunities through sport.
Sandra Guaita, Mayor of Reus, received the symbolic baton from Martí Pujol, Mayor of Llinars del Vallès, and Ferran Aril, President of the FCBQ. The event was attended by institutional representatives, clubs, players, and families linked to basketball.

During her speech, Guaita emphasized the city's commitment to “making 2026 a year of visibility for female talent, equality, and values linked to sport.” Previous capitals before Reus and Llinars del Vallès include Vic, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Girona, Igualada, Malgrat de Mar, and Manresa.
