The city of Reus, birthplace of Antoni Gaudí, is participating in the FITUR 2026 International Tourism Fair in Madrid from January 21 to 25 to strengthen its cultural and gastronomic positioning.

The presence of Reus at FITUR 2026 takes on special relevance due to the celebration of the Gaudí Year 2026, coinciding with the centenary of the famous architect's death. This commemoration is considered a “key opportunity” to project the city as a top-tier cultural destination, reinforcing its identity linked to the genius.
The Mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, will offer a presentation aimed at media and professionals on Wednesday, January 21 at the Catalan Tourism Agency stand, where the strategic focus of the Gaudí Year will be detailed. The participation is framed under the Córner Costa Daurada – Terres de l'Ebre agreement.

"The Gaudí Year is a unique opportunity to explain Reus to the world based on its identity, its talent, and its capacity for innovation. Our presence at FITUR allows us to strengthen the city's positioning as a first-rate cultural destination and generate new opportunities for the local economic and tourism sector."

In addition to the cultural focus, Reus will also play a prominent role in the gastronomic field. The city will host the welcome party for the winners of the Sols Guia Repsol 2026 Gala, an event that will help give visibility to Reus as a city linked to quality products and culinary experiences.

"FITUR is a key space to explain the city narrative we are building, a narrative based on culture, gastronomy, commerce, and heritage. The Gaudí Year allows us to project Reus coherently and attractively."
