The Reus City Council has tendered a contract worth nearly 99,000 euros to carry out works improving the accessibility and safety of several pedestrian crossings in the city.

The contract has a bidding budget of 98,689.22 euros and is part of the public road maintenance investment plan promoted annually by the Public Road council. These actions aim to guarantee a safer, more accessible, and inclusive urban environment for all citizens.

"The objective we pursue from the Public Road council with the investment plans is to improve the daily life of citizens through the adaptation and improvement of different public road elements in all neighborhoods of the city."

The works will focus on key points identified beforehand, including the pedestrian crossings at Monestir de Poblet street with Monestir de Ripoll street, Salou avenue with Pere Cavallé Llagostera street, Salou avenue with Navarra street, and the Passeig dels Plàtans.
These improvements address the need to adapt the urban environment, especially for those with reduced mobility or special needs. The project design is based on a prior diagnosis that identified critical points in the pedestrian crossing network, considering objective criteria such as conservation status and compliance with current regulations.
