This exhibition concludes a year-long itinerant tour that has taken the works through various locations in Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre, attracting over 300 visitors. The display is part of the program organized by the Reus City Council to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The main goal of the initiative is to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities through art. Following the awards ceremony a year ago, the exhibition toured locations such as the Casal de les Dones de Reus, the Gregal Civic Center, the URV, and the Tarragona City Council throughout 2025. The tour will continue in 2026 with planned stops in Zaragoza, Móra, Vila-seca, Manresa, Sant Pau (Girona), and El Vendrell.
“"Behind every work in the exhibition there is a creative process, which helps people to communicate."
In this first edition, the prize saw the participation of 127 artists from 28 disability care organizations across Catalonia. The Councillor for Culture and Linguistic Policy of the Reus City Council, Daniel Recasens, emphasized that “this exhibition reaffirms the city's commitment to making art and culture accessible to everyone.”
During the review of the first edition, it was confirmed that the prize will be biennial. The second edition will be officially announced in March 2026, and intellectual disability artists from all over Catalonia will be eligible to participate. The initiative is supported by the Diputació de Tarragona and collaborates with the Diputació Art and Design School in Reus.
