The presentation will take place at seven in the evening in the Emili Argilaga hall of the Centre de Lectura de Reus, organized by the Secció de Ciències de la Comunicació, Reus Digital, and LANOVA Ràdio de Reus. The three invited politicians, Ernest Benach, Josep Fèlix Ballesteros, and Josep Maldonado, along with the author, will be moderated by Marià Arbonès, director of Reusdigital.cat.
The volume, titled A les dues bandes de la trinxera (On Both Sides of the Trench) and subtitled “Half a century between politics and communication,” analyzes crucial issues such as the relationship between the political class and the media, changes in communication, the rise of social networks, and the phenomenon of disinformation.
The book gathers experiences, transcendent facts, and anecdotes, featuring numerous proper names encountered throughout half a century of professional practice.
The author, Jesús Conte Barrera (Barcelona, 1954), holds a degree in Information Sciences and has published 20 books. His extensive career includes serving as press chief for the Presidency of the Generalitat under Jordi Pujol (1998-2003) and for Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya, in addition to working as a communication consultant and professor at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC).
