Tortosa Hospital expansion leads Generalitat investment in Ebro region

The Catalan Government has announced a total investment of 73.5 million euros for the Terres de l'Ebre region in 2026, marking a significant 30.3% increase from previous accounts.

The most significant allocation is 19.9 million euros for the expansion of the Verge de la Cinta Hospital in Tortosa. The project includes specialized engineering to preserve local archaeological remains.
Baix Ebre remains the primary recipient with 35.7 million euros. Key infrastructure projects include upgrades to the C-12 highway and a 6 million euro investment in the waste treatment center at Mas de Barberans.
Other notable projects include the renovation of the old judicial building in Tortosa and coastal improvements at Les Cases d'Alcanar port, as part of a long-term financial plan reaching 2029.
