Palafrugell once again hosts the Flors i Violes Festival, which from this Thursday, April 30, until Sunday, will fill the town in Baix Empordà with nearly a hundred cultural and artistic activities.

This year's edition opens with an innovative proposal: “Elements”, an immersive show by Fotonik.Lab and Drakonia. This spectacle, combining visual mapping, lights, fire, and three-dimensional sound, can be enjoyed for free in the Plaça de l'Església. Sessions are scheduled for Thursday at 10 PM and 11 PM, and will be repeated on Friday at 9:30 PM and 10:30 PM.
The festival maintains its growth trajectory, especially in the musical sphere, with the consolidation of Can Mario Square as the main stage for evening concerts. This musical commitment not only enriches the cultural offering but also boosts commercial and catering activity in the town center.

"Flors i Violes maintains the growth trend of recent years, especially in the musical field. The consolidation of Can Mario Square as the main stage for evening concerts also positively impacts the commercial and catering activity in the town center."

the festival's artistic director and programmer
The musical program includes prominent performances such as Sidonie, who will present their new work Catalan Graffiti on Friday, and Els Catarres, who will return to Can Mario Square on Saturday. Additionally, the venue will feature food trucks, DJ sessions, and ambient music to complement the festive experience.
The festival also places special emphasis on family programming, with activities such as puppets, play areas, and children's shows at the Library Courtyard. Among the proposals for the little ones, highlights include La Colla Pirata with Tots som Pirates on Saturday and Rock per Xics with El Rock és salut on Sunday.
Beyond the main stages, the center of Palafrugell will transform into an ephemeral artistic route with over thirty spaces, streets, and squares hosting installations, floral decorations, and visual interventions. This edition revives spaces such as the Can Bech Gardens, Casa Genís, and the old Post Office, combining local memory with contemporary artistic languages and new technologies.

"Flors i Violes is an event designed for all ages and an excellent showcase to promote Palafrugell."

The involvement of the local community is fundamental, with schools and institutes participating in initiatives like “Paraules que floreixen” on Carrer Estret. The traditional Artisan Market will also take place on carrers dels Valls and Cavallers, and commercial establishments will participate in a new edition of the Shop Window Contest, promoted by Oohx!gen Palafrugell. Last year, the festival attracted around 20,000 visitors, and this figure is expected to be surpassed if the weather is favorable.
