A forest fire declared this noon in the wooded areas of Gavà, in the Baix Llobregat region, has led to the preventive lockdown of residents due to the advance of the flames.

The fire has gained intensity rapidly, reaching the ridge area. Currently, a device consisting of 22 ground units and 7 aerial resources, including two water bombers, is working to control the perimeter and prevent the left flank from spreading towards the Galliners mountain range.
Extinguishing efforts are being hampered by the extremely high temperatures recorded in the area. Emergency teams are maintaining active surveillance over secondary hotspots that the fire is causing beyond the main perimeter.
