The Cunit City Council, led by Mayor Jaume Casañas, has publicly denounced the municipality's exclusion from the temporary toll exemption on the C-32, implemented by the Generalitat following the closure of the AP-7 in Gelida.

The measure to open the C-32 tolls in the southbound direction (from Barcelona to Tarragona) was adopted as a mobility alternative after the collapse of a wall on the AP-7 highway in Gelida, which caused its temporary closure. This exemption, however, does not apply in the northbound direction.
The Cunit council has expressed its discomfort, as drivers traveling from Barcelona and exiting at Cunit must pay the lateral Cunit-Cubelles toll. In contrast, the exit is free if they continue to neighboring municipalities like Calafell or El Vendrell.

"I demand the same conditions for Cunit as for the rest of the municipalities. A partial application of the exemption is unfair and worsens mobility and road safety in the area."

Mayor Jaume Casañas has demanded explanations from the Generalitat regarding why the main Cubelles toll, which grants access to the free exits, is open, while the lateral exit towards Cunit remains subject to payment. He argues that this situation forces drivers to pay at a point of high traffic density and local commuting, and calls for homogeneous exemption to avoid unnecessary diversions onto the secondary road network.
