The railway stoppage, scheduled for February 9, 10, and 11, began with great uncertainty among travelers. At the Sant Vicenç de Calders station, for example, no trains left towards Tarragona early in the morning. Furthermore, information screens only displayed Regional train schedules, increasing confusion among Rodalies (commuter) passengers.
Renfe sources assure that the agreed minimum services, set at 50% by the Government, are not being carried out correctly.
The situation was especially critical in the Baix Penedès region. Many users from municipalities like Cunit and Calafell had to advance their usual schedules to ensure arrival in Barcelona. The parking lot at Cunit station, which is usually full early in the morning, looked completely empty, reflecting users' fear of being stranded.
This chaos was aggravated by specific incidents, such as a train in Sant Vicenç that could not depart because the driver argued that the emergency window was painted. It should also be noted that, being a strike day, there was no reinforcement of bus services to alleviate the lack of trains, forcing users to seek alternative services.
