The Audiencia de Barcelona has started the trial against an osteopath accused of sexually abusing twelve patients in centers in Carnet de Mar and Mataró between 2008 and 2020, with the Prosecutor's Office requesting 46 years in prison.

The trial began this Monday at the Audiencia de Barcelona against the man accused of continuous sexual assaults. The Prosecutor's Office is not only seeking the 46-year prison sentence but also compensation for the twelve victims totaling 220,000 euros, with individual amounts ranging between 10,000 and 30,000 euros.
The first ten victims testified in the morning behind closed doors, in person. To ensure their protection and avoid visual contact with the defendant, a screen was used to separate them during their statements.

The victims, almost all of legal age at the time of the incidents, reported that they suffered or continue to suffer psychological sequelae derived from the abuse.

In addition to the prison sentence and compensation, the prosecutor has requested six years of disqualification from practicing any profession related to therapeutic massage or natural therapies. Five years of supervised release after the custodial sentence and a prohibition from approaching within 1,000 meters or communicating with the victims have also been requested.
The trial will continue next Wednesday with the testimony of witnesses. The defendant is scheduled to testify at the end of the process, which is provisionally set for Tuesday, January 27.
