The Barcelona Education Consortium has launched open days for schools and institutes for the 2026-27 academic year, providing families with necessary information before mandatory pre-registration begins in March.

Choosing an educational center, whether to start primary school, move to ESO, select a vocational training cycle, or decide on a university, always generates uncertainty among families. Open days are presented as a key tool to resolve doubts and learn about educational projects.
These sessions, which in Barcelona began in February (although some centers started in mid-January and will run until May), are the first step before mandatory school pre-registration, which must be completed during March or April.
To facilitate access to information, the Consorci d'Educació de Barcelona has provided families with an online search engine to consult the calendar of all public and subsidized private centers in the municipality. Most centers offer both in-person and online meetings.
Once the visits are completed, the Department of Education establishes the following deadlines for online application submission: Early Childhood and Primary Education, from March 4 to 18; ESO, from March 5 to 18; Baccalaureate, from April 9 to 16; and Music and Dance studies, from March 18 to 27.
