An individual has been arrested in Barcelona for the theft of over twenty boxes of modular construction toy sets, valued at 2,000 euros, which he subsequently resold on digital platforms.

Officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra's Sant Martí District Investigation Unit arrested a 47-year-old man, accused of committing seven thefts in toy stores. The suspect, who already had 16 previous arrests, had specialized in stealing modular construction toy boxes.
The investigation began following several reports of similar incidents in toy stores, five of which were recorded in Barcelona and one in Rubí, in Vallès Occidental. Officers confirmed that the individual had acted up to four times in the same store located in the Sant Martí district.
On April 16, a joint operation by plainclothes investigation and public safety officers intercepted the suspect as he was leaving one of the stores, carrying two more boxes of modular construction toys, leading to his immediate arrest.
The detainee was brought before a judge on April 18. At the request of the Mossos de Sant Martí, the judicial authority issued a restraining order prohibiting the individual from approaching within 500 meters of any toy store for a period of six months.
