The Catalan woman who was isolated at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, after being a contact of a passenger on a plane who died of hantavirus in South Africa, has obtained a negative result on the second PCR test performed.

According to the Health department, the patient remains asymptomatic and in good general condition. She will continue under observation and in preventive confinement at the hospital for the period established by epidemiological surveillance protocols.

The healthcare and public health response remains active, working in coordination with state health authorities to ensure proper case monitoring.
