The Berguedà County Council is set to begin major renovation works on the Textile Colonies Route this Monday, February 23, covering the stretch between Pedret and l'Ametlla de Merola.

The project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and preserve the industrial heritage of the Llobregat river area. Key actions include slope stabilization using bioengineering, replacing damaged railings, and upgrading urban furniture and signage across fifteen historic industrial colonies.
A significant part of the 265,122.97 euro budget, funded by EU Next Generation grants, will be allocated to replacing the faulty lighting system at Mina Llarga to ensure safe passage for hikers and visitors.
