The Junts municipal group has proposed that Berga City Council implement the Repte Casteller project to encourage the social use of Catalan among students in non-formal settings.

The initiative aims to ensure that the Catalan language remains the main tongue not only in classrooms but also in playgrounds and dining halls. Junts spokesperson Ramon Caballé noted that many children switch to Spanish during leisure time.

"Catalan is used in classes, but in many cases it is lost in leisure spaces, such as the playground."

The project uses traditional human tower building values to encourage language use. Junts urges the newly created Language Department in Berga to implement the plan for the next academic year.
