The Cerdanya County Archive in Puigcerdà hosted the final session of the 11th Explica'm una història lecture series this weekend, featuring a talk on the influential figure Josep de Zulueta.

Historian Carles Gascón Chopo presented his research on Josep de Zulueta i Gomis, a key figure in the Pyrenees during the early 20th century. Zulueta was instrumental in shifting the local economy from vineyards to dairy production following the phylloxera plague.
As the founder of the Cadí Cooperative, Zulueta leveraged his high-society connections to implement agricultural reforms. His work laid the foundation for the modern butter and cheese industry that remains vital to the region today.
The event was organized by the Cerdanya County Council and the Cerdanya Research Group. Since its inception in 2015, this cultural program has become a local success, often filling the archive's hall to capacity.
