The sale of the tickets, which could be purchased in person at the Puigcerdà Tourism office, by phone, or email, generated queues starting at seven in the morning, repeating the scene from previous years. Organizers are now placing interested parties on a reserve list, as the 500 available tickets have been claimed.
The Trinxat Festival will take place at the Puigcerdà sports center and includes a gala dinner featuring the typical Cerdanya dish, which requires approximately 200 kilos of potatoes and 100 kilos of cabbage. The evening will be entertained by the Orquestra Montecarlo and will include local appetizers, such as regional cheeses and cured meats, followed by traditional duck leg.
This marks the 29th edition of the festival, which began in 1995 and has been a resounding success ever since. Although in the past up to a thousand diners were accommodated, this year capacity has been limited to 600 people. Of these, 500 were for public sale (at 36 euros per ticket) and the remainder are protocol entries reserved by the Puigcerdà City Council.
The event is made possible thanks to the participation of dozens of workers, collaborators, and volunteers. This includes 28 waiters, more than 50 local companies that supply products, a dozen restaurants that prepare the Trinxat, and six pastry shops. Students from the culinary training cycle at the Institut Pere Borrell also collaborate, alongside municipal brigade and Civil Protection members.
