The R2 South commuter line and regional trains have resumed service between Sitges and El Garraf stations since Monday, following three months of construction.

The R2 South commuter line and regional train services have resumed operation between the Sitges and El Garraf stations since Monday. This resumption follows three months of works that had affected the infrastructure.
According to Renfe, services will progressively improve, with the total recovery of usual frequencies and operations expected to be one week ahead of the initially planned schedule for June 15th. Following verification of the infrastructure's condition, trains on the R2 South line are now running on double tracks between El Garraf and Sitges, concluding the alternative road transport plan.
The works, which began on March 16th, caused modifications to rail traffic for three months. With their completion, usual frequencies for the R2 South line (Sant Vicenç de Calders – Barcelona) and regional services (R14, R15, R16, and R1) are being progressively restored.
Among the services being reinstated is the section of the R15 line between Móra la Nova and Riba-roja d’Ebre, which had been served by road transport due to speed restrictions implemented since late January following a derailment in Gelida.
The full restoration of service will involve schedules adapted to ongoing works and remaining temporary speed limits. Trains on the R15 line originating from or heading to Zaragoza will require a transfer at Móra la Nova.
