The Besalú Town Council has opened a prior public consultation for the drafting of its Honours and Distinctions Regulations, allowing for citizen proposals over 20 working days.

Interested citizens and entities can submit their contributions for 20 working days starting from the day after the announcement is published on the municipal website. This process aims to gather opinions and proposals before the regulation is drafted.
The future regulation intends to establish clear criteria for recognising individuals and entities who have excelled through their merits, trajectory, or contribution to the municipality. It plans to regulate awards such as El Pont de Plata, titles of favourite son/daughter and adopted son/daughter, as well as the naming of public streets and facilities.
The regulation will also define the procedure for granting these honours, incorporate gender balance as a guiding principle, and establish the circumstances under which distinctions can be revoked.
Contributions can address the problems the regulation should solve, the necessity and timeliness of its approval, the objectives it should pursue, and potential alternatives to the proposed regulation.
Interested individuals and entities can submit their opinions and proposals through the Town Council's registry or any of the channels provided for in Article 16 of Law 39/2015.
