The floral exhibition, an emblematic spring event in Girona, will dedicate special installations to two pivotal figures of Catalan culture. Architect Antoni Gaudí will be remembered with displays on the steps of the Cathedral and inside the Basilica of Sant Feliu. Meanwhile, musician Pau Casals will be honored in the Jardí de la Pau, on Emili Grahit street, and in Plaça Natàlia Molero, in the Devesa-Güell sector.
These recognitions coincide with the 150th anniversary of Pau Casals' birth and the centenary of Gaudí's death. The Girona City Council, through its government team comprising Junts, Guanyem, and ERC, has emphasized the importance of these figures. Additionally, the Associació d'Amics de les Flors, considered the soul of the event, will also receive a tribute on the Cathedral steps on May 9.
“"Temps de Flors is an event that defines the city."
The celebration of the exhibition is pending the resolution of a strike called by the city's cleaning workers, from the company Girona+Neta, which will begin on Monday, May 4. Municipal authorities are confident in an agreement between the company and its staff. On the other hand, the municipal staff of the brigades and action groups has already reached an understanding with the council, ending their protests.
