The Meteorological Service of Catalonia has issued warnings for torrential rains in Girona and several Catalan regions this Thursday and Friday due to Storm Regina.

The weather situation is expected to worsen in the coming hours as a front could dump more than 100 liters per square meter in a single day. Orange alerts have been activated in areas such as Empordà, Garrotxa, Ripollès, and Selva.
In addition to the rain, Storm Regina brings a severe sea storm. Forecasts indicate waves exceeding 2.5 meters along the entire coast. Consequently, Civil Protection has activated the Inuncat plan pre-alert.
Thursday is expected to be the peak of the storm, with wind gusts already reaching 72 km/h in some areas. The instability will begin to subside on Friday afternoon as rain and wind warnings are gradually deactivated.
