The Quart Town Council has launched the Children's Council, a new participation body composed of primary students who will manage €2,000 to decide on municipal investments in the town in 2026.

The Quart Town Council has officially launched the Quart Children's Council, a participatory body that, for the first time since its inception during the 2024/25 school year, will have real decision-making power. The young councillors will manage 2,000 euros of the 2026 municipal budget to implement an improvement project within the municipality.

"With the Children's Council, we take a step forward to listen to the youngest residents and give them an active role in municipal decision-making."

Ferran Rodero · Mayor of Quart
The council consists of nine 5th and 6th grade primary students from Escola Nou de Quart, democratically elected by their peers. Although Escola Santa Margarida declined the invitation, the initiative aims to establish a direct link between youth and the local government to incorporate the children's perspective into local policy.
The councillors will meet monthly to discuss proposals submitted by the various municipal departments. Following initial meetings held on January 23 and February 3, the next session will take place in March, where the final options for the investment will be presented for their decision.
