Carles Bosch argues that Catalonia cannot waive the 4.7 billion additional euros provided by the principle of ordinality.

The regional president of Junts in the Maresme, Carles Bosch, criticized the party's stance on the new financing, urging them to accept the 4.7 billion euros to benefit Catalan public services.

Bosch expressed anger at ERC for failing to achieve the promised economic concert, but insists that rejecting the additional funds would be “very difficult to explain” to the public. This money, according to the Maresme leader, would directly benefit the Generalitat and essential services offered to Catalan citizens.

"Politics involves negotiation, and you can never achieve everything you propose. Both sides must be moderately happy or reasonably unhappy with the agreement. That is called pragmatism."

The regional president of Junts in the Maresme made these statements and publications on his social media channels on January 10, 2026, where he asked the party leadership to be receptive and listen to the voices from the territory before making a final decision on the vote.
Despite his pragmatic stance, Bosch maintains that Catalonia's ultimate goal must be financing similar to the Basque Country's system, but believes this should not prevent taking advantage of immediate improvements offered by the current agreement.
